We typically DJ at events anywhere in the Lower Mainland. This includes Surrey, New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, Delta, and Langley. We can also play events in other regions (Vancouver Island, Whistler, etc.) with added travel expenses. If you are willing to cover travel and hotel expenses, we'll come DJ wherever you are at!

We can play pretty much any genre of music that you want for your event. Our DJs specialize in remixing popular tracks that everyone can sing and dance to. If you have particular requests, let us know before the day of your event!

We tailor every set to your style—anything from classic hits to EDM, R&B, and beyond. We’ll work with you on the vibe you want for each part of your day: ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance floor.

Absolutely. We welcome song requests, must-plays, and do-not-plays. Your wedding, your soundtrack. Just let us know at least 2 weeks before the date so we have ample time to prepare our music collection.

The sooner the better—especially for peak wedding season (May to September). We recommend booking at least 3–6 months ahead, but reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate your date.

Yes, if needed! Most of our DJs are comfortable on the mic for announcements or light MCing. Or, we can coordinate with your designated MC to keep everything smooth and on schedule.

Up to 8 hours of DJ services are included in your wedding package, though we can extend if needed at an additional hourly rate as outlined in our contracts.

We can play multicultural or non-traditional weddings, though we'll rely on you to provide a playlist of tracks.

Yes, depending on which package you select when you book with us, we can bring audio and lighting gear.

Of course. We’ll have a mic ready and can help coordinate transitions so your announcements land smoothly without interrupting the flow.

Yes, we're happy to accommodate song requests ahead of the event. If desired, please send us your must-plays, do-not-plays, or any specific genres/artists you love at least 2 weeks before the day of the event.

No! There are no upfront costs, and we do not charge membership fees for DJ's to join the VanCity DJ Collective. Instead, we collect 15% commission on gigs - which means that we only get paid, if you get paid.

We procure all sorts of gig opportunities, including Weddings, Corporate Parties, Private Events, and Bar and Nightclub gigs.

We receive gig opportunities across the Lower Mainland (great Vancouver area) and sometimes even beyond that. If you are comfortable travelling overnight for DJ gigs (with expenses covered), let us know!

It depends on the event! We'll let you know what your pay will be for the gig before you decide whether or not to accept the event opportunity.
